Syncarb crucibles are high pressure, isostatically pressed CLAY-GRAPHITE crucibles. The clay-bonded Syncarb crucible has a high density homogenous structure which gives very good chemical resistance against fluxes and excellent thermal conductivity.
The inherent high mechanical strength allows the production of much larger crucibles. Further positive properties are outstanding oxidation resistance, high refractoriness and good thermal shock resistance. Syncarb crucibles are particularly used for electric resistance and gas-fired furnaces with melting temperatures between 700°C and 1100°C. Syncarb is suitable for melting of aluminium alloys in pre-melting furnaces as well as for holding with frequent flux application. For specific crucible requirements, such as holding at very low temperatures for zinc distillation or for use in induction furnaces, there are specially modified Syncarb variants in our product range.Syncarb is a premium quality crucible manufactured by iso-static pressing and incorporating high levels of oxidation resistance and mechanical durability. It is designed to have superior resistance to attack by melt treatment agents typically used in aluminum alloy applications.
Syncarb offers superior performance for aluminum holding and melting in electric resistance and gas furnaces; as well as melting and holding of zinc and zinc alloys.

Syncarb crucibles are finished in a light rust color.
Syncarb crucibles are available in a range of shapes and sizes to suit most enduser requirements. Certain sizes can be made available with pyrometer pocket to facilitate measurement of metal temperature. A wide range of pouring lips are available.
